I’ll never complain about my job, as I have the privilege of using the latest and greatest flagship devices, like the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. As a tech enthusiast, it’s a dream come true, and I’m always excited to power up a new device. However, this also means I don’t get to stick with one phone for too long, sometimes missing out on the experience of living with certain excellent models.

Take the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ for example. It was sleek, powerful, and offered a premium build and design. Released in late 2019, it represented the best Samsung had to offer at the time, more than five years ago.

I wanted to revisit older hardware to see what it's really like to live with an older flagship and whether upgrading our phones as often as we do is truly necessary. While new features are certainly tempting, today’s devices do offer more than their predecessors— but how much more? Let’s find out.
